Tools that give you the actual number
Single-purpose calculators and reference lookups for work where the answer matters to a degree or a decimal. Each one loads straight into the tool and asks for nothing.
Nothing matches that. Try a field like medical billing, or what the tool does, like overtime or tokens.
AI
Token counting and model cost estimation.
- Crosswind ComponentCrosswind and headwind for a runway, worked out for the gust as well as the steady wind, and converting a true METAR wind to magnetic.Open the tool
- Density AltitudePressure and density altitude from elevation, altimeter setting and temperature, accounting for humidity and showing the rule of thumb beside the real figure.Open the tool
- Weight and BalanceWork out weight, moment and centre of gravity, plot the loaded point on your aircraft’s envelope, and see where it moves as fuel burns off.Open the tool
Ceramics
Kiln firing, cones and glaze temperatures.
Construction
Concrete quantities and material takeoffs for a pour.
Developer tools
Parsers, visualizers and syntax checkers that run in the browser.
- Ampacity and DeratingCorrect a conductor ampacity for ambient and bundling, then apply the NEC 110.14(C) termination limit that turns a 90 °C conductor into a 60 °C one.Open the tool
- Box FillEnter the cables rather than a wire count. The number stamped on a box assumes it is empty, and one receptacle and its ground can cost you a whole cable.Open the tool
- Circuit CheckRun all four BS 7671 checks on a circuit design: corrected capacity, voltage drop, earth fault loop impedance and the adiabatic protective conductor check.Open the tool
- Conduit FillCheck conduit fill against the NEC Chapter 9 limits, including the 31 percent rule for exactly two conductors that catches people out.Open the tool
- Solar InterconnectionCheck a panel against the NEC 705.12 busbar rules. Your busbar rating is not your main breaker rating, and on a solar-ready panel that gap is 30 amps of backfeed.Open the tool
- Three Phase PowerConvert kW, kVA and amps, and see line current against coil current for delta and wye. That difference decides how an overload relay is sized.Open the tool
- Voltage DropVoltage drop using the full conductor impedance, not resistance alone, shown next to the resistance-only answer so you can see what reactance costs.Open the tool
Legal
Litigation deadlines: federal date counting and state limitation periods.
See the two legal tools- Court Deadline CalculatorFederal civil deadlines counted under FRCP Rule 6, including backward periods, the observed federal holidays and the three days for mail service that no longer apply to e-service.Open the tool
- Statute of Limitations CalculatorComputes when a state limitation period expires from your accrual date, applies minority tolling and shows when a statute of repose has already barred the claim while the period still looks open.Open the tool
- Aspect RatioResize or crop to any ratio and see exactly what the crop discards, then check a vertical crop against the TikTok, Reels and Shorts safe zones.Open the tool
- Subtitle SyncShift every cue, correct framerate drift with a stretch, and check reading speed in CPS against Netflix limits. Converts SRT and VTT, and never uploads the file.Open the tool
Medical billing
Claim coding references for US medical billers and coders.
See the seven medical billing tools- 835 Remittance ReaderRead an 835 ERA in the browser, decode every CARC and RARC, and check it balances to the deposit including the PLB adjustments that usually explain why it does not.Open the tool
- 837 Claim CheckerCheck an 837 before submitting: claim totals against service lines, NPI check digits, and diagnosis pointers that resolve to a diagnosis actually on the claim.Open the tool
- Denial DecoderPaste an adjustment line from a remittance and get the group code, reason code and remark codes explained, starting with whether the amount is a write-off or billable to the patient.Open the tool
- HCPCS Code LookupPaste supply, drug and equipment codes and get the CMS description, the Medicare coverage status, the pricing methodology, and whether the code was valid on your date of service.Open the tool
- ICD-10 Code CheckerPaste a whole claim of ICD-10-CM codes at once. Says which are billable, which are category headers that will deny, what to send instead, and what changes on 1 October.Open the tool
- ICD-10 FY2027 ChangesEvery ICD-10-CM code added, deleted, reworded or reclassified for FY2027, including the ones that keep their number but stop being billable.Open the tool
- POS CheckLook up any of the 52 assigned Place of Service codes and see whether Medicare pays the facility or non-facility rate for it, with the conditional rules CMS states separately.Open the tool
Payments
ISO 20022 and payment message validation.
Payroll
US overtime, pay and wage-and-hour rules.
Tax
Federal cost recovery: depreciation, section 179 and bonus.
Workplace safety
OSHA recordkeeping and citation penalties, worked out the way OSHA works them out.
See the two workplace safety tools- OSHA 300 Log EntryYour dates and facts in, the 300 Log row out. A case that puts somebody out for three days and then on light duty is checked in one column and carries two different day counts, and the day of the injury is in neither.Open the tool
- OSHA Penalty CalculatorA whole citation priced item by item, showing every reduction and multiplier with the Field Operations Manual section that produced it, including the one willful item that removes good faith from all the others.Open the tool
What these are
A lot of technical reference still lives in a PDF, a scanned chart or a forum screenshot. That is fine until you need one value from it, on a phone, next to a machine that is already running.
So each tool answers exactly one question. It does the arithmetic the published source expects, shows its working, and says plainly where the answer stops being reliable. There is no account, no paywall and no upsell, and the reference tables stay readable with JavaScript turned off.
More are being added. If one of these gets a number wrong, or misses a case you actually hit, tell me and it gets fixed.
